Ash was born in a small shack, in the slums of her city, in the midst of a bloody war. Little did she know, she would soon play a major part in it. 

Caine and his sister, Kathryn are trying to get a dragon egg to the city of Morata, where apparently a dragon tamer can hatch and raise the baby dragon inside.

But an attack in the city prevents them from making it there and the siblings cross paths with Ash.

They start a life changing journey to try and find a safe haven for humans and dragons alike, but and try not caught in the war on the way there.

The dragon is struck down, but Alice finds it injured on the small island where the group temporarily set up camp. She frees the dragon and flees back to her camp, but as time goes on she finds herself going back to find the dragon and even befriending it. During all of this she discovers a side to dragons that no one from her tribe ever saw, and she makes it her job to warn the chief of Berk before Alryne can take the king of dragons and put the entire dragon kind at jeopardy. War against Alryne is inevitable, but Alice thinks she might be able to help Berk prepare for the battle ahead.
