Have you ever felt left out? Singled out because of the way you look or who you are? Well, thats the story of Ash's life. When you're different, people judge you. When you look like a T-rex had a baby with a winged horse, people tend to form their own opinions of you.
In a world dominated by men, few female characters have their stories told. Athena is a bitch, Medusa is a rape survivor, Artemis is a warrior, and Hera is a tool. All while Zeus sits at the top enjoying his orgies and fine wine. This is a story of a warrior, a survivor, a woman living in a man's world. But you know what? Fuck them. They need to be shown their rightful place at the bottom of the totem pole. Go back to having to impress woman or be thrown to the curb!
Ash is a result of her environment. She grew up with a sour taste in her mouth. It probably had something to do with her "father" affiliated with the murder of her mother. We have been raised to fear out-of-the-norm things. A woman with snakes for hair is a good example. It doesn't take one long to form their own opinions and values. Ash's comprise of hate, anger, and longing.
With only one friend to travel through life with, one can have a pretty wary perception of reality, but when has that ever stopped anybody?
