Logan is 15. He's a total nerd, and he possesses the ability to manipulate energy. When he arrives at Sanders School of Magic, he meets two people. Roman Royal and Patton Snow. They quickly become friends, and they warn him of another group in the school. One that dabbles in the darker energies. One that must be stopped. But what happens when Logan meets one of them, and they're not as bad as he thought?

When Roman gets a penpal for his college English Lit class, he isn't all too happy about who he's gotten. His penpal is mysterious, angsty, and he doesn't seem all that friendly, but he is determined to get passed that tough exterior. But it doesn't help that he refuses to tell Roman his name. Virgil wasn't all too surprised about a random letter showing up at his house. He was already made aware of the penpal assignment that Mr. Sanders was doing for his English class and got his permission to give him to one of his student who he believed they would "make a great pair". He tries to convince himself he's happy as he returns to his house every night after working overtime and falling asleep on the couch only to start the cycle again the next day.
