Cadence Greenwald is no different than most girls at her school. She likes art, wears black nail polish, and her playlist consists of bands that every person swore they were hiding. She was the boring friend, she wasn't a super scholar like Matty or in the running for valedictorian like Saira. She didn't have a juvenile record from protesting like Jordana, either. She was just Cadence.

The issue is when "just Cadence" starts her school year off a little more romanticized than she probably should have. Things are moving fast, and pretty soon it won't be "just Cadence" anymore.
