Government Artificial Bots (aka Aunt Gab) are caretakers of nurseries all around the country, Nitrocia. These caretakers are supposed to brainwash and prepare kids for whatever job they are assigned to when they are 8. 

Once the kid turns 18 they get sent off to their job... that is... IF they are "ready"....

My life was supposed to be normal. You're born, raised by good parents, go to school, make friends, graduate, get a job. You create fun memories, find the love of your life, get married, start a family, grow old, and eventually, you breathe your last. That's what life was supposed to be like for me. But instead, my life turned out to be the opposite of normal. And so it was for Chiara, Blake, Jake, Rowan, Nova, and Dijon. To tell our story, we need to go all the way back to the beginning. Before we were even born. It all started 30 years ago. April 5, 2003. a class got into an accident and when the survivors woke up, they realized something was wrong. they got powers , they got taken by scientist who started calling them the hollows. It took almost a month before they were rescued by Mr. Knight, they got taken to a secret place where they could live peacefully. that's a lie, one of the students wanted revenge and not stay hidden, so the group seperated. Every year another person got powers, and so, the search continued. But there was always one question on mr. Knight mind: Why 12 children the first time, and only one per year after that? And one thing was for sure: whenever someone gained powers, they had to give something up in return. It was never a choice. It was just the way it was. So, now that I've explained a bit about how this all started, let's fast forward to the present. It's now 2033. Mr. Knight has found 19 children, and Mr. Douglas, the leader of the other group, has found 10. That means... the 30th child is out there somewhere. Who will it be? And one more thing before I go-welcome to the world of Dark Light.

They eventually lead to something more, which seems to cause more than it should. Oliver and Jay are two polar opposite 15 year old twins. Well, one of them is, you see Oliver is a tomboy with self-destructive tendencies. Jay on the other hand loves her life, and is so full of it, she's the total opposite of her twin. Oliver has a job, to pay for their apartment. Oliver doesn't go to school because someone has-to work, and she wasn't going to let Jay work. So Jay goes to school, Oliver has a job. The girls do have a motherly figure though, Mama Rae. She's who Jay calls whenever Oliver has pushed herself too far and gets sick. And that's what happens this time. Except Mama Rae had her son over when Jay called. So she brought them along. The boys are looking to adopt a child, and they think Oliver and Jay would be the perfect fit. What'll happen to Oliver and Jay? Will Jay continue her self-destructive ways? Will the girls get adopted by the boys? Can the girls overcome their nightmares, panic attacks etc, and become 'normal' teens? And what will they do when they find out the people who want to adopt them are apart of the mafia?

Disclaimer: I wrote this novel before the movie Lucy came out it is in no way related but the premise of the brain and the powers eerily similar It is the year 2173. Human beings have evolved to use more than 10% of their brain, and as an effect, possess supernatural powers. Luna and Lara Valkyrie grew up in a foster home in the town of Westhaven, California. Both 18 and having been born on the same day, they were raised as twins, Luna adopting Lara's surname because of her own being unknown. Westhaven is a lovely town, the perfect place to live the american dream in. There is only one problem. Not only there, but in almost every place in the world, human beings are branded with a number, that being the amount of supernatural abilities they possess. By the time each child reaches the age of 18, that number becomes permanent, and everyone with a ranking above 5 is taken away. From that moment on, they belong to the government, and must train in government facilities that are a lot like prisons or army bases. Their eyes are changed by machines, and they are identified for the bright aura-like color that surrounds their pupils and contrasts against their natural eye color, "the sunflower effect". The day of the chosen has come, and Luna Valkyrie is a seven. When she is taken by government guards, she believes her life is over.
