I am.... let's say a HUGE avatar fan. I have done my own fanfic searches on multiple forums and something I've always wanted to read and could never find was a version of all three books but from purely katara's POV. I'm aware that technically the show is "told by her" but I never really got that feeling, not to mention we never understood what was going on in her head. This is what my take would be of her inner dialogue. My hope is to do a whole book purely on her POV and then another book later on of parts of their story from the pov with others. I would also add the chapter numbers that match between the two books (Idk if this makes sense but it does in my head lol) I'm planning on writing 10 chapters before I publish anything and try to do a chapter or two a week after that. Let's be honest here I've started multiple stories before and haven't finished a single one of them but this is something I've been looking for and couldn't find. I've never been all that big on adventure. Sure, in my head I was the greatest adventurer who ever lived, slaying demons and taming dragons and what have you. But when you're actually there, and you realize that you're not just there but a Mary Sue too.... well that actually sucks. Awesome in its own way, but nobody wants to be a Mary Sue, or a Gary Stu or whatever. Oh right, I'm getting off track here. My name? Not Mary, that's for sure, but it generally depends on the story. See, if I was to introduce myself in a Japanese or another Asian styled world by my English name....that would be weird.... so I pick a name that I figure fits. Today my name is Amaya. Why? Well, I liked it. And I guess it fits. The name means "Night Rain", and it fits because well, I woke up in the middle of a forest in the middle of the night....and it was raining. Funny how that works huh? Also, I'm a waterbender. Neat right? I guess. But I digress. I should really get to the story right? Well, like I said, it was a rainy night, and I was cold, lost and alone....

Until the night guards came to our house, demanding my father come with them. I was only five at the time, hiding behind my mother as the Fire Nation guards tried to take my father. I remember everything that happened that night. First there was shouting, voices ringing angrily through the house. Then came the fighting. The guards attempting to take him by force; my father fighting back. Mother grabbed me and my brother, taking us outside to avoid the flames being thrown around our home. I strained against her, desperate to get to father, who's screams could be heard from inside. My mother forced me to stay put as she ran back to the house to help father. Neither of them came back. My brother and I hid in the forest next to our house as the guards came out of the burning house. He told me to stay hidden while he went to check things out and I didn't move until the house collapsed. My brother never returned. It was then, I was determined to get revenge, to take down the Fire Nation for taking my family away from me. My name is Mari and I will see to it that the Fire Nation burns.

Shortly after Katara finds herself being presented to the new Fire Lord, Fire Lord Zuko. Tempted by the simple sight of her, Zuko cannot decide if he should let her go or keep her locked away forever. Our story takes place from the "Crossroads of Destiny" episode. While you may notice some key/similar parts, moving forward from this point in the show everything has been set on a new path.

The people in the colonies do not, hatred starts to grow in their hearts. The Avarar will need the help of a companion more than any other time, and there is no better person to aid him than the secret waterbender that's part of the Fire Nation fleet, the woman who risked her own life to get him to safety, even though this had been the first time they had met in their lives. NOTE: Any characters that do not appear in Avatar: The Last Airbender belong to me. The atla universe belongs to the creators.

Fire Lord Ozai discovered her Air Nomad origins and he imprisoned her for three years. She got to meet the royal family before it was broken. A new Air Bender appears, and it didn't take long when a Fire Navy ship arrived the deserted icy lands of the South. I've read quite a few fanfic stories out there and this one isn't very good in comparison, but I'll post it for others who might find it entertaining--it was certainly entertaining to write. Also, I understand a lot of readers don't like stories that follow canon. This one does follow the show for the most part, but eventually digresses, follows, and digresses again.
