This story takes place 25 years after the lates Wings of Fire book. Seasnail is a Seawing Silkwing hybrid, who despite loving her parents deeply, wishes she weren't so weird looking. No sea-dragon should have four wings, and the other dragonets in Sanctuary make sure she knows that. When a new family moves in though, Seasnail is exposed to two things she has never experienced before: understanding and friendship. Unfortunately, her new friend carries the burden of a curse, and Seasnail must put her life at risk just to help him.

Belladonna, the heir to the Rainwing throne and the daughter of Queen Glory and King Deathbringer thought that her only problems were trying to conceal her mind-reading abilities and secure a peaceful future for the tribes in the Rain Kingdom. These dragonets are destined to stop the secret rebel plots that are spreading like wildfire through Pyrriah. But there are challenges in the distance, including past villains being risen from the dead and a mixture of heartbreak, betrayal, fatalities, and imprisonment. There is no time to wait, revolution is brewing, and another war is approaching fast on the horizon. When Hare realizes that there's no convincing her friends to keep trying, she turns to another group of dragonets to ask them for help. Flame hates the prophecy. He hates his stupid fate and the stupid NightWing that threw him into this mess. When he finds out the prophecy was fake all along, he's more than happy to give up. He wants nothing more than to go home and see his mother, especially after all that's happened. But Hare manages to be convincing enough, and the last thing he wants is to have to live in fear of losing his mother to the war. Both groups of dragonets have lived their entire lives in a lie, but one will end the war and make Pyrrhia the continent it was before.
