Adrien Agreste is the boy living a picture-perfect life. He is the son of a wealthy businessman and has been raised in the walls of the famous Agreste mansion. Though, when his mother died, the frame of his picture started to crack.
His father becomes an abusive man and has since treated Adrien as a criminal in his own home. No one knew what went on behind the walls of this mansion, but when he escaped them for the hours as the famed Parisian superheroine, he felt free.
As time grew on, the frame's cracks grew deeper and larger, all to the point Adrien could barely think straight. Many more dark things had awaited him those months ago, and everything that had hit him recently was too much for him to handle. Romance had hit the boy's heart, and he had been betrayed and traumatized; all the roots of these problems being caused by the man he had used to call his father.
Being Chat Noir no longer made him happy, and Adrien had no longer felt a drop of joy. He started to blame himself for his problems, beginning to believe his father's words; that he was a criminal and a disappointment to his name.
Adrien can't begin to comprehend the crisis that has begun because of his selfish use of his miraculous gem. And, he won't know, until it's too late for him to fix anything.

"If you're gonna trust me once, please let it be this time." Adrien urged her as he stood in the door frame, his tone was gentle but urgent, and he shut the door.
Ladybug collapsed and called off her transformation, revealing her civilian self. Her chest heaved with heavy sobs that escaped her body and she lowered herself to the floor. Tightening her arms around herself, she cried out.

He took a deep breath in, held it and then released it. He repeated it a second time. "I'm sorry, Ladybug. I can't just listen to you cry." He threw open the door, his eyes shut tightly. He lowered himself to the floor in front of her, settling down on his knees and extending his arms outwards. He kept his eyes shut and listened for any movement from her.
