Scarlet is a genius. By her first birthday, she could recite her times tables off by heart. By her third, she could do complicated algebra with ease. By her seventh, she had already graduated from university. She had everything, doting parents, lots of money, brains and beauty, and is generally loved by all of the people she meets, despite being rather stuck-up.
Saffron is a clumsy and lovable girl, with a strong sense of right and wrong and huge talent in the dramatic arts, but her family is too poor to afford an education for her, so she is homeschooled by her rather unintelligent parents who, despite trying hard, can't teach her properly.
Sally is a mischievous little idiot who tries to find the fun in life and never knows when she's gone too far. She lives with her divorced father, who taught her that life can be fun if you make it fun, and these are the words she lives by.
