Harley Maddoc Rey came from one of those elite families you'd read in financial magazines- the one with the CEO/ Chairman of the Board/ Doctor as a father, an international supermodel of a mother, and a genius neurosurgeon of brother. But what they don't see in that cover perfect family is - the apathetic cheating husband/ disdainful and verbally abusive father; the alcoholic party mother that ignores whatever's unpleasant; and the physically abusive older brother that frequently hospitalized his younger brother.
So what does seven-year-old Harley do- he learns to cope in the most self-destructive ways. He learns to drink hard liquor to drive away his father's booming voice, he learns to take party-pills to un-feel his mother's neglect as his mood swings up and down. He learns to love the bruises, cuts, and broken bones as his brother's 'love & care'.
That is until 14-year-old Harley flatlines for the first time and his Uncle finally gains custody. But just how broken is this boy that he needs to be institutionalized into a mental hospital twice and once for rehab, all within three years.

Fortunately, it only takes two years for his songwriting talent to shine through at the age of 19. With musical talent but a complex, explosive temper + mood swings, Harley is in no place to take on the music industry alone. As CEO of his own entertainment enterprise, Uncle Maddoc puts together a boy band of four ready to debut.
But throw in Harley into the mix- can this group really succeed?
And what of Dean Ali Sein, a former teen boxing champ, turned idol for the steady pay and security. He carries his own temper and violence that's ready to erupt with the right triggers. How can Dean keep Harley in line when he's barely hanging by a thread himself?
