This story is a prequel to the AU "The Soul of Love" focusing on the past and the origins of Asara's mother, Chara. You will discover her childhood on the surface, her fall to the Underground and her rise as the future queen of monsters.
It is highly recommended to have read "The Soul of Love" before this story, as you may miss many references and important elements for the lore understanding.

This is an AU where all 7 human souls fall down to the Underground at the same time. DISCLAIMER: Several things I have decided on for this fanfiction. Toriel and Asgore got divorced after the death of Chara and Asriel and Asgore's declaration of war. The human souls will be called by names I have decided on for them, not by their soul traits. (Cody and Clover are from the fangames Undertale Green (Kindness) and Yellow (Justice) respectively. The others are Hannah (Perseverance), Amy (Integrity), Echo (Patience), and Leo (Bravery). But that's not all, after everything has been in peace, a new anomaly comes into the town and wreaks havoc on the Surface. How does Ai know her? Who is she? What does she want with the monster's souls? Finally, who is the mysterious Aaron and why does he have connections with this anomaly? Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth. Humans and monsters. At least, that's the story we all know. There was another race. Technically, they were monsters. Skeleton monsters to be exact. Humans shunned them because they were monsters. Monsters shunned them because humans had skeletons. In retaliation, the skeletons split into two different races. The Surface Skeletons and the Abyss Skeletons. The Surface Skeletons reaches out to both monsters and humans. However, when the war started, they were some of the first monsters attacked and many were killed when they fought with the other monsters. Only a handful were sealed underground but without the Sun to strengthen their bones, the skeletons suffered until they received anonymous help. Very few survived to this point and slowly, they died out. The Royal Scientist at the time and his wife tried to have children. Each time left them severely weakened. Each child dusted until the wife gave up her life to bring a great skeleton into the world. That child is the last of his kind. The Abyss Skeletons shunned all other monsters and humans, considered them all demons. Their society was alike human society long ago. Divided. They believe they are strong and emotions only weaken. The class system was rigid and they possessed a kill or be killed attitude to all other monsters and humans. They thrived underground and ended up building their society in the Underground's own Abyss. It is a shame that only their leader can reclaim their heir from the corruption caused by those demons.
