A knight who was once known as the empires hero after slaying the demonic dragon Draguel, a noble from a respected family who was outcasted by the noble society on the day of her debut, a scientist interested in medical science and machinery, an assassin who worked under the command from the emperor and a witch who was burnt at the stake. Their lives were turned around in an instant once the empires ruler Aulus Vitellius fell sick and died.
