I gasped as a cold sweat trickled down my forehead. I grabbed my chest, feeling my heart beating quickly. My breath slowed as did my heartbeat. I closed my eyes and sighed. I rubbed my chest and mulled my shirt down slightly. I had red scratches, like a big dog, running down my chest. Blood dripped slightly from the scratches. "Never," I growled in defiance. I couldn't believe the Moon Goddess had mated me to this monster. I despised him. Every inch of my soul hated him. "Give me all the pain you want, but I will never obey you," I spat, my voice filled with hatred. He chuckled darkly. "Then, as you wish," he murmured. I barely had time to process his words before sharp pain pierced my neck. His fangs sank into my flesh with full force, tearing through my skin. I let out a blood-curdling scream as agony burned through me. My eyes snapped open involuntarily, locking onto his, and in that moment, I realized I had made a terrible mistake.
