Reginald Hargreeves had adopted eight children into his care, not because he liked children (he doesn't) but because they were special, all born with supernatural abilities. Y/n was unintentionally adopted by Reginald because she is Diego's biological twin sister, her mother would only give Reginald Diego if he also took Y/n. Y/n Hargreaves was the strongest of the eight but she was one of the smallest, which Reginald couldn't have.
