This happens after they save Eri (season 4, episode 13). After it's completely different, please, don't come at me. It's fan-made,
Zero is a 19-year-old, during one of the experiments, 2-years-ago, with Kai. He put her in a room with 4-year-old Eri, making Eri use her quirk on Zero, causing Zero to manifest another quirk. Eri reverses Zero, 4 years back as Zero's quirk activates causing herself to stop developing, getting stuck in her 12-year-old body. After that Zero stops talking after noticing that she doesn't feel pain or emotions, except anger.
After the heroes attacked the hideout, Zero was able to escape without knowing if Eri escaped as well.
