13 months ago, after a tragic car accident took my mother's life, I was forced to live with my evil step dad Laverne, and his twin boys from hell, Rodney and Ronell. I cook for them, clean for them, and take their snarky comments about my weight. I was pushed to the basement of my own home that makes one too many sounds I can't identify.
I wonder what my mom must feel witnessing her daughter be mistreated by the man she once loved.
One night, the day before my 18th birthday, I overhear Rod and Ron talking about a party. My Grandmother, Glam-ma, took it as the perfect opportunity for me to abandon my sheltered life, if only for one night. And there I met Cobra.
Cobra was mysterious. The n!gga was a Kingpin's son that read Shakespeare novels! Heh, go figure. I would have no idea that many adored and respected him like a Prince. He waltzed me into a stupa that night, but he lived a lifestyle I couldn't get down with. (I mean, what Prince Charming have you met that sells dope? Yeah, that's what I thought.)
I couldn't help but wonder was that fateful night my fairytale ending, or was Cobra meant to show me a life worth living.
