These were the words that inspired Kageyama Shigeo. To him, quirks were just talents like any other; singing, dancing, sportiness, it was just another everyday quality some people had. His quirk quite literally checked every box for heroics. His personality? Not quite.
Midoriya Izuku believed in the opposite.
"Nobody is born equal."
Born quirkless and ridiculed by many, he had always wanted to be a hero. But if you don't have a quirk, how can you? Despite the setbacks and the ridicule, his sights were fixed on being a hero. It would be a long journey, but one of the ideal qualities of a hero is unwavering will. He checked that box.
