The legend of Hua Mulan survived thousands of years and spanned countless generations. The tale of a girl who went to war in place of her father and disguised herself as a man for twelve years have spanned countless generations and there are many variations of the story. She returns home to great honor and blessing. The ending changes between stories, but the message remains the same. Honor was very important back then, and it is very important now. 

I tried to make the story as realistic as possible and incorporated other Chinese traditions and customs, weaving it as I saw fit. I used the Ballad of Mulan, because it was the earliest and most reliable. I also added parts from other stories throughout ancient China. Enjoy, because this story will take you through the eyes of one of the most beloved figures in Chinese history.
