Thirteen-year-old Faylin cares about nothing but Broadway, her hair, and her beagle, Elphie. But when Faylin's family moves from New York to Florida a year after her dad dies, her world turns upside-down. The nearest theater is the one in Disney World, the humidity KILLS her locks, and Elphie runs away. Totally NOT COOL!!! With the help of the girl from the cafeteria, the nerdy freshman across the street, and the old neighbor lady, can Faylin find Elphie- and maybe some friends?
