Chelsea Moore, 17, is a normal teenage girl. She's smart, talented and pretty (although she thinks otherwise). Sydney Maddox, 17, is a normal teenage girl too. She's witty, bold and according to Chelsea, beautiful in every way possible. Sydney is Chelsea's best friend, and first love.

But being true to yourself and showing the world who you really are isn't easy. Especially when there are people who may isolate you upon learning your true identity. Can Chelsea and Sydney ever understand their true feelings and accept them? And can others accept them too?

When being your true self is difficult to do how are you meant to be happy. That's what these teenagers face in this story. Amber is a 17 year old struggling with the fact shes transgender, growing up she always liked boys toys better than dolls and by age 8 she knew she was in the wrong body. But being stuck in a home with parents that want the very best from her is making it very hard for her to come out. She finds herself confiding in her best friend Jace. Jace is a closeted gay male who is hiding himself from his heavily strict parents who don't believe that people are born gay. Rayne is a biromantic asexual who is happily open with her friends but at home shes quiet and scared of who she is, a child of divorce she constantly blames herself for her parents divorcing when she was 10. Kyle is the cool skater boy of the group and always seems to be happy and well composed but when hes alone he's confused and scared about his own sexuality along with his past.
