The Family of Continuous Misfortune [An Encanto Fanfiction]

15 parts Complete

[Disclaimer! I do not own Encanto or its characters!] Tonight was supposed to be perfect. After the previous ceremony that left a confused, scared, and disappointed town in the wake of Mirabel not receiving a gift, Antonio was meant to prove with confidence that the Madrigals and their magic remained strong. Everything was fine! The magic was strong! Everyone performed their duties to the community. Bruno performed his by hiding himself in the walls. Dolores did it by settling disputes and making people walk on eggshells when she could hear. Isabela did it by becoming betrothed to an already taken Mariano. Luisa did it by exhausting herself constantly. Everything was fine! There was no need for change. What they had in the isolated Encanto worked. At least, they swore it did. But then, all of that changed with the act of a person scaling the mountains.
