It's September 1940 and 13-year old Sophia Lewis is evacuated from London during the Blitz. She is placed with the Jones family in Newport, Wales and takes a fancy to the 15-year old Ianto. When he's sent off to war in 1942, Sophia is distraught as she worries about her love on the battlefields of France.
