Dayton is the whole neighbor hoods favorite child since her mom, Robin found Dayton on Robin's two story house door step. She is not popular, not emo, not nerdy, and certainly not the school golden girl. She is now 17 and still lives in the same house, in the same small town in big ol' Louisiana. She starts to change. She is getting stronger, faster, she can hear better, are better and she can suddenly speak to animals, and feels a special connection towards water, fire, earth and air. And she seems to be growing strange black wings on her back. what is happening to Dayton Woods. And who is the strange bad boy who seems to take an interest in her?

Mixing Elements
The balance of nature is a beautiful thing. Everyone knows that balance is helped by Mother Nature. What people don't know is that there is too much chaos in the world for one person to handle. Mother Nature needed help to keep the balance between humans and nature. She chose four people. Four elements. Fire, air, earth, and water. Four people to help control the world's balance with their element. These four people are chosen from birth. Fire is strong and confident, yet badly tempered. Air is free-spirited, often a dancer who likes gossip. Earth is stubborn and greatly built. A great debater. Water is calm and graceful. If you mess with them though they can be worse than fire. Mother Nature chooses the new generation of elements based on who they are inside from birth. She trains them to use their element in secret. If society knew the elements walked among them the results could be catastrophic. People can belief in someone bigger than themselves, but if they knew what really went on the balance would die. The elements are to tell no one of their powers. The four most often form two couples. Mainly fire with air, and earth with water. The balance naturally is two boys and two girls. This is the story of four talented people who changed the rules, and dealt with the biggest natural chaos of mankind, that mankind never knew.
This World
On a war decimated earth, there are few safe places, and even fewer safe cities. All that's left are ruins, woods, and cities where humans are trying to build society again. No one knows the truth behind the war, but it is believed the Strongs began it. And so, to stop it from happening again, they are killed. Most humans now have an affinity of varying strength for one of the elements: fire, earth, water, air, and rarely mind. There are some who have a Strong affinity. The Strongs are able to manipulate the elements - and are killed for it. Fighters are born without an affinity and trained from a young age to kill the Strongs. Their gift of being unaffected by the Strongs' power make them ideal assassins. Makenna is a Strong Fire. She and her best friend Halima, a medium mind, have been on the run from Makenna's mother for the past two years.
