Alexander Black, or at least that's what the tombstone said, woke up in a coffin and dug himself out of his grave. He has no idea who he is or how he died and he doesn't wish to know. A voice in his head tries to convince him that he isn't human. That he has to go out and find what it calls his 'mate' but he doesn't want to. It's been two years and he's started a new life in Rosemore, Minnesota. He has a job, a new name, a family of sorts, a house and has started to contemplate giving his housemate Yua a chance even though part of him doesn't want to. That is until a man comes into the diner claiming to know him. Alistair Black looks exactly like Xander, so he doesn't question it when he says he's his father and decides to go with him. 

An attack on Alistair's home leads to him being kidnapped by a girl on literal fire and her five annoying friends. Xerxes knows who they are and ruins every attempt Xander makes to escape. Everything they tell him contradicts everything his father did. He doesn't want to admit they may be right.
