In Reina's world, witchcraft and sorcery haven't been a secret for centuries; some have magic and some don't, it's a fact of life. But there are still those who must remain hidden, like The Scion.

The Scion are Reinas people, descendants of the old gods, who wield more than ordinary magic. For centuries they were guardians of both magician and mortal, protecting them from the evil powers of the old world. But superstition became their enemy and the Scion were hunted to near extinction until they too disappeared into the realm of myth.

For years Reina, descendant of the Celtic war goddess Morrigan, has trained on the hidden Isle so she too can honour her peoples ancient oath to serve and to protect, only now they're forced to do it from the shadows! But finally her time is here! She's come of age and can escape her island home, now she just has to escape the clutches of Gideon; her intended!

But something strange is happening. Can Reina stop the ancient evil that threatens the fragile peace between man and magic? Can she free herself of Gideons obsessive lust? And can she resist the strange connection between her and a curious sorcerer.

A generation of witches emerged in a world where two factions, the Druids and the Witches, held power over the Earth and its elements. Gifted with the ability to harness the powers of Light and Dark, they dedicated themselves to honoring the Goddess Mother and the natural world. They celebrated life, abundance, and the cycles of nature through festivals and rituals. The Goddess Mother blessed two witches with extraordinary power, one with Light and the other with Dark, and bestowed upon them a book containing all the spells necessary to honor her. With this book, they could even cheat death itself. However, they were forbidden from using their powers for evil. Meanwhile, the Druids delved into the dark side of nature, making pacts with gods of the afterlife who demanded blood sacrifices. The Elder Druid, consumed by envy, plotted to steal the witches' power. Spreading lies about their wickedness to mortals, the Druids convinced them that only witch burnings could lift the curse. The Elder Druid's greed knew no bounds, and he sought the Goddess's book, whispering more falsehoods about the witches. Fear gripped the land, and countless innocent men and women were burned at the stake until the witch hunts finally ceased in the late 17th century. The two High Strega, the last of their kind, devised a plan to protect their magic and revive the Witchline. The Goddess revealed a prophecy: when a daughter of Dark and a son of Light possessed the book, the Witchline would be restored. They separated, hiding their true power and passing the book from one High Strega to another across generations. Until now...

A Young Woman: Twenty-two year-old Eva Mallory has never felt truly herself. But that's normal, right? Especially given that her only remaining family member, her grandmother, is gone, and Eva has to navigate post-college life alone. And while most young women have to deal with the struggles of #adulting - roommates, new relationships, and work - they don't also have to deal with an edgy, electric feeling pulsing just beneath their skin. Recently, these strange feelings have gotten stronger. So have Eva's dreams, dreams full of energy, foreboding, and featuring her missing mother. A Secret World: It must be pure bad luck that causes Eva to stumble, one night, into a battle between a demonic madman and a powerful sorcerer. But she soon finds herself thrust into a violent world, at turns familiar and strange. It's a world where loyalty is demanded, alliances are tentative, and power is the ultimate currency. A Latent Power: As Eva finds herself used as a pawn between two cataclysmic forces, she realizes that her bad luck is no coincidence. Eva has no idea who she really is. And to survive, she must find out. But what if who she really is...is a monster?
