The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) calls for India to enact a law that will apply to all religious communities in matters such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, adoption. The code falls under Article 44 of the Constitution, which states that it will endeavor to secure a uniform civil code for citizens across India.
