They brought me here to Voltaire Asylum. The place where all the crazy people live. The people who don't fit into 'Normal' society. The people who are thought to be harmful.

Gracefully Broken
My mental health journey and memoir. The incredible Grace of God, and my haunting tales of being insane. This memoir is about faith and the incredibly bizarre journey God has taken me on these last 18 years. I've spent years in psychiatric care and have been in and out of psych wards more times than I can count. The memoir is raw, and it can be disturbing. If anything triggers you please stop reading for this story is my truth. I find comfort in Jesus Christ. This is the story He has written for me so far. My perspective is that He alone can save, and when you lose your mind it is extremely comforting to know you are not alone. The Torment
December twentieth is the day I remember being brought into the asylum for the first time. Like any typical psychopath, I screamed. I cried. I remember snatching the nurse's hair until she screamed and I was slapped into unconsciousness and thrown into the room. The only difference? I wasn't a psychopath. For the first few days, I would cry maniacally upon hearing any nurse go by, to catch one's attention and tell her that I wasn't insane. "That's exactly what an insane person would say" They said, unbothered and it was as if my fate rested in the mouldy walls of the Asylum. He answered ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Being an orphan, you don't have a lot of experience's or happy memories. Especially if your orphanage uses you for human experiments. The pain...the agony- the screams of the other kids I once called friends and played with...all gone and replaced with despair. Only teddy could keep me company and keep me sane. Till one day, a new boy was brought in and he was strange. But he interested the kids, even the scientists. He was placed in my room and he never spoke a word to anyone. He would wake up in the middle of the night and gasp for air like if there never was any. But he was my friend. Things changed and a few years later, the orphanage was attacked. Two people came in and killed the scientists but spared the children. While making an attempt to escape, I was caught by the remaining scientists and taken away. The screams of my friend echoing behind me as I tried to escape... Such a waste as I became strong and have long forgotten those memories. But side effects came with the experiments they played with. Y/N is the name and being psychotic is my game. Don't try to catch me cause I can read you like a book in a grand library.
