Crescent Moon was crazy. She knew it. They knew it. Her parents knew it. Even her twin sister, Luna knew it.
After all, what else could explain the voice?
Cress has lived her whole life as an outcast. She hears thing she shouldn't, knows things that are impossible. She talks to herself, and when she does, someone answers. Cress can't explain it.
The voice tells her secrets, whispers into her ear things she shouldn't be able to know. Everything is predicted, explained. Except the voice itself.
Because what Cress doesn't know is that, to someone else, she is words on paper.
What Cress doesn't know is that she is a character in a story.
All characters are written in for a reason.
