Pounding. Was it the pounding of footsteps that I heard? Or the beat of a nervous, anticipating heart? I didn't want to open my eyes, not prepared to see what lay beyond the confines of my mind. Somehow, I knew the sight of what was about to be seen would not be pleasant.

It was a battle long fought. No one was winning, but no one was willing to stand back either. We were being hunted, hunted because we cried. Or smiled. Or laughed. Hunted because we couldn't hide everything that so desperately wanted to get out. Our emotions. They called us Voids. They wanted us dead. They wanted the world to be a blank canvas of cold stares and quiet voices. And Echo was the main target. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everyone saw me as a mistake. At least other Void's chose to hide. Despite surviving with minimal injuries, the ship is totaled and he's stranded on this tundra-void exoplanet. Is there any chance of survival? This is a passion project, and I'm not going to lie to you, it takes me awhile to come up with any creative ideas. Please be patient with this story. It's loud, frightening and it makes the roof tremble at the sound of its voice. It's the reason why kids curl up with their mums on a stormy night, and the reason puppies hide under the creek. Yet barely does anyone acknowledges the cause of the thunder; the main reason why it actually exists. But who really is the badass here? It is that quick bolt of light that emerges from the clouds and disappears in the edge of a second. It is the thing that you ought to fear. Because it is fast, silent and most definitely deadly.
