It's been more than 500 years since humanity tore itself apart, a series of natural disasters and nuclear war killing most of the population. The world is still irradiated and people are still dying, but small groups of survivors are making the best of what they have. Everyone is looking out for their own survival. Mitch and Jerome were born days apart, the only survivors of a large family group, struggling with the realization that humanity wasn't as perfect as they thought. Mitch wants to believe that humanity did good. Josh and Simon seemingly have everything they needed, food, water, shelter and each other, but Josh wants more than that. Jerome never even realised that she was pregnant- he saw her for one night, drunk while at a party, and 9 months later he was served with papers, demanding he take custody. Mitch was raped.
