While the recently reunited Porter-Kennard family try to put  together a routine for their family life, Bette receives a package from an old lover that draws her into a mystery about a painting that had been seized by the Nazi's in 1939 and thought to have been destroyed.  This mystery unfolds under the umbrella of the international COVID virus.

When fighting broke out 20 years ago many feared the beginning of world war 3. Hope's parents were commissioned to create a virus that could quickly and effectively wipe out a nation. However when the war was over it still hadn't been used and they feared it may fall into the wrong hands. They knew they had to find away to destroy it. There is still large disagreement about what happened once the project was disbanded. Many believe hope's parents hid the disease and the cure and those people will stop at nothing to get it as they use it to gain power. Hope and her younger sister Dora live a quite life in a small town in the Rockies. So suddenly when their parents are murdered in their home, Hope knows she has no choice but to run. Oblivious to the dangers that lie ahead of them they he'd to Denver in departs search of answers. Are they ready for dangers that come with knowing the truth? Can the strange green eyed boy she meets be trusted to keep her and her little sister safe? Or is this all just a little more than they bargained for? (Cover photo does not belong to me)
