Elle has always been seen as a foreigner despite being raised in Japan. Though she was praised in Elementary School for her English, she never really cared for it all that much as she is British and the language comes easy to her. Having a foreign name and being a different race led to bullying in her younger years. At home, she was mentally and physically abused for seemingly no reason. Her dream to be a hero came from her own struggle and wanting to help people like her.
Katsuki Bakugou has always been praised for his quirk and his smarts. He's from a well off family but has a raging inferiority complex. Prone to violent outbursts, he's used to getting his way and people being afraid of him. Until he meets Elle, the one person who isn't mortified in the slightest.
