I put my head between my knees. The tears slowed but I was still shaking and sobbing. My lungs were burning as I tried to suck in the dry air. I took short, quick breaths because I couldn't breathe for long before the gasping cries returned. About four nurses rushed in then. I closed my eyes, blinking away tears. A nurse laid me onto my back and put an oxygen mask over my face. My ribs and lungs hurt with every breath. About half of my tears were now from the intense pain.

At least I could breathe now.
