Three kids find their way into the Old Woods, a place rumored to have Death sitting right at its center, searching for two missing people, their mothers. None have ventured far enough to return back home.

Every five years, a person disappears into the Old Woods from the tree house village. No one knows how, why, or when. It's said death wants a new wife every five years and the village serves as his hunting ground.
Could a skinny lad with visions, a loud girl with books stacked up in her heads and a dark-haired, thirteen-year-old find the missing ones or would they meet the same fate as others? The odds seem dull but they need to find their mothers.
Would anyone join them? Were could this lead them? What hid in that forest? Who took mothers away from their helpless children, left to fed off their own? Who would they meet on their way or die even before they could reach close?
