These are my favourite poems from my book The phoenix is a song bird, they are split into three sections with the overall theme "rising from the ashes"
Im posting them here to see peoples reactions and gain some feedback before I attempt publishing the full book! Enjoy!
Notes:
- the poems range in length and specific type of writing as they are all written in the heat of the emotion therefore I do not like attempting to stick to one type of poetry :) -

Petals of my moonflower
Red isn't always romance, sometimes it's blood, Moon isn't always for lovers, but sometimes for secret cries, Flowers aren't always for marriage, but sometimes for grave, Petals aren't always soft, sometimes they prick the soul. No plagiarism/No hatred plz. Also some things might contain mature contents like self harm. I want to say those kinds of suicidal poems are not to inspire anyone to self harm. The Phoenix Girl (Editing)
"Have I ever told you the story of The Phoenix Girl?" My Grandfather asked. "No, you have not," I said. My Grandfather was like any other old man, but his mind was far from ordinary. All grandfathers are alike, each one tells you stories about wars or the good old days. But not my Grandfather. He was a storyteller, but his stories were always different. He would just come up with the stories, and they would be so enrapturing to me. It hooked me from the beginning until the moment I had to leave. But then one day, he told me a story that would change everything for me and my Father. This story called the Phoenix Girl. It's a story of a girl who goes through hardships and struggles in her everyday life. They punish her for things she has no control over, but then she faces it all. She is reborn from the ashes of the flames that had consumed her. She is stronger. But what if this isn't just some story that my grandpa came up with? What if something connected her to my family? What will happen now that the truth is out there? Why was this story so important? What will change? Who is this Phoenix Girl? Trapped in my own head
She is an outcast. She finds it easier to express what she feels in the form of writing. Whether it is poems, letters or long texts. These are poems that she writes trying to describe how it feels to live with certain mental health issues, in a world that disregards outcasts. So, these are on the darker side of the spectrum. Some poems might be distressing for some readers. I personally enjoy consuming dark content, it's kinda like a coping mechanism. I really hope none of you relate with any of these :) I'll be posting only poems here, I'll try to be as active as I can. The poems are not in any order.
