These are my favourite poems from my book The phoenix is a song bird, they are split into three sections with the overall theme "rising from the ashes"
Im posting them here to see peoples reactions and gain some feedback before I attempt publishing the full book! Enjoy!

- the poems range in length and specific type of writing as they are all written in the heat of the emotion therefore I do not like attempting to stick to one type of poetry :) -

'i will never stop blooming, like an eternal rose of flame... i may have my times of smolder and small sparks, but i will always become a huge inferno in the end... and nothing can stop me.' Collection of poetry and prose between the ages of 10-15. Almost completely in order, so don't be deterred from the first couple of weird poems. I was trying to find myself through writing during that time. WARNING: I don't edit any of them. These are completely raw. Highest Ranking: #365 in Poetry EDIT: completed! The Phoenix Girl (Editing)
"Have I ever told you the story of The Phoenix Girl?" My Grandfather asked. "No, you have not," I said. My Grandfather was like any other old man, but his mind was far from ordinary. All grandfathers are alike, each one tells you stories about wars or the good old days. But not my Grandfather. He was a storyteller, but his stories were always different. He would just come up with the stories, and they would be so enrapturing to me. It hooked me from the beginning until the moment I had to leave. But then one day, he told me a story that would change everything for me and my Father. This story called the Phoenix Girl. It's a story of a girl who goes through hardships and struggles in her everyday life. They punish her for things she has no control over, but then she faces it all. She is reborn from the ashes of the flames that had consumed her. She is stronger. But what if this isn't just some story that my grandpa came up with? What if something connected her to my family? What will happen now that the truth is out there? Why was this story so important? What will change? Who is this Phoenix Girl?
