Rienea ran through the howling blizzard, desperate to get home to her hut in the forest. She struggled through the deepening snow as the thought of her two-moon-old daughter who was waiting at home, only protected by a safety field her mother had put around her before Rienea had to go out and was hit by the snowstorm. Rienea made it to the now snow-covered clearing where her and her daughter's hut was now swaying in the wind. "Please still be safe... please still be safe..." Rienea whispered repeatedly as she fumbled with the lock on the door. Suddenly, a tall pine tree near her swayed dangerously close to the rickety house and dumped a ton of snow and ice on the house and Rienea's head, burying her under many pounds of freezing snow and making the hut creak and sway under the new weight. "Stars..." Rienea muttered, shaking the snow off of her head. She pulled her wings closer around herself and finally shoved the door open, revealing a small space with a nest in the corner. Rienea rushed into the hut, not bothering to close the door behind her, and began to shove aside talonfuls of straw and leaves from the nest. Soon, a little blue, purple, and pink Spirit Wolf was revealed sleeping in a small, hidden nook in the nest. This Spirit Wolf had some dragonlike qualities, though. She had horns, fangs, a scaly dragon tail instead of a fluffy wolf one, and even had small, scaled wingbuds on her back. Rienea scooped the wolf up in her arms and held her close for a moment. "Oh, thank the stars..." she whispered, a bit shakily. Rienea exited the house quickly with the cub held in her wings. "Oh, my little girl... I'm so sorry..." she risked one last glance at the Spirit Wolf before looking ahead again. Rienea and her daughter soon came to a larger building made of stone.
