River Valley High is een prestigieuze middelbare school waar de leerlingen niet alleen les hebben, maar ook slapen. Al jaren op rij is het uitgeroepen tot beste school van het land. Het is dan ook geen wonder dat al jaren lang rijke en belangrijke personen hun kinderen erheen sturen.
Als Luna de kans krijgt om met een schoolbeurs een leerling te worden op River Valley High, grijpt ze die kans meteen. Echter is het geweldige kostschoolleventje toch niet alles wat het lijkt. Zeker niet nu de school uitgekozen is als locatie voor een wereldberoemde wedstrijd.
De leerlingen zetten alles op alles om te winnen. Het gebruik van geweld en het uiten van persoonlijke geheimen gaat niet te ver. Is het wel veilig om de wedstrijd zo door te laten gaan? En is het Luna de offers wel waard om te winnen?
