Cries were heard, lives were lost, monsters were roaring, as dark forces invaded the Kingdom. Duke Shawn, whom lead the invasion and also the King's best friend, swore to have the Kingdom for himself. He buried his conscience and brutally murdered the King and Queen.
During the invasion, the King and Queen knew what was coming for them so they asked Millicent, a good friend of the Queen and a skilled warrior to take their daughter, Fiona, and hide away in the Netherlands.
As Millicent was about to escape with Fiona, Duke Shawn tried to stop them and attacked Millicent in order to murder Fiona as well. In the middle of the intense fight between Shawn and Millicent, Fiona was terribly frightened. Seeing the princess's state, Duke Shawn cackled with a sense of delight. Millicent took his moment of distraction to knock him out with a blow. She recited some enchanted words and escaped to the Netherlands with Fiona.
Fiona now lives as Summer, a commoner in the Netherlands. Will she discover her true Identity and go back to her Kingdom to get justice for the death of her parents and free the Kingdom from the evil clutches of Duke Shawn?

Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed.
