Irene Peterson is just a quiet girl that has no idea she is about to discover the next generation of a whole new world.
One summer day, she decides to visit an old friend's house for a picnic in the woods, and the next thing she knows she is stranded by herself in some strange, unfamiliar place. Irene comes across an old village in the forest belonging to a peculiar group of teenagers. To add to that, no one in the village seems to know anything about what is going on, or how they all got there.
As Irene finds new information that just seems to confuse her more, she meets new people, reunites with old friends, and has the sort of adventure she thought she would only ever get to read about.
