At the age of six everyone gets a unique symbol on their wrist. Only one other person in the world has the same symbol, your symbol match is your soulmate. This method of pairing couples helped enforce heterosexuality and has been in place for 50 years. Homophobia became so normalized that it was a part of the k-12 curriculum. Children from as young as 4 were taught gay meant evil and if you felt any desires toward the same sex you were to report them immediately to your parent to be sent to conversion therapy.
