Behind all the dreams of glamour and glory lies an insatiable secret hiding behind the fragile veil between the hopeful dreams of prosperity - upon the eldritch reality awaiting just outside the city walls, where terrible horrors watched and loomed as the everyman toils their meagre lives, awaiting the moment to reveal themselves.

Those sacrifices made by those who were unlucky to encounter these terrors shall not be forgotten, and The Horrors of Apocrypha codified these perilous events for the world to see.

The universe holds secrets that were never meant for human eyes. They are whispered in the wind, etched upon the fabric of the cosmos, hidden in the depths of ancient stars. These secrets are not for the faint of heart, nor for those who seek comfort in the familiar. They are for the brave souls who dare to gaze into the abyss and confront the things that lurk in the shadows beyond human comprehension. This is the tale of one such man, a traveler who ventured beyond the bounds of known reality, and in doing so, witnessed the unfathomable horrors that predate even the dawn of mankind. He returned with tales of terror, of ancient entities older than time itself, of whispers that echo in the silence of space, and of the chilling realization that humanity may be just a fleeting blip in a cosmic dance of unimaginable terror. Prepare to delve into the depths of the unknown, into the chilling secrets that lie hidden amidst the stars. This is a story that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew about the universe and your place within it. This is the story of the man who saw too much, and the terrifying truths he brought back with him. [Attention: Story Rewrite] This story, while drawing inspiration from the original, has been substantially reworked and expanded upon. The themes, plot points, and characters have been carefully re-evaluated, and the narrative has been rewritten with a fresh perspective. The world is dying. Heaven and Hell have broken and collapsed, creating a post-apocalyptic landscape that is part purgatory, part platonic world of ideas, blighted by the horrors of the human mind. The sun lies dormant in the east, atop God's tower, while the west is plunged into darkness and haunted by all that lives there. There is no day and night cycle, nothing grows, nothing dies, nothing changes, unless magic is involved. Angels hunt creatures for their blood, to feed it to God so he can finish gestating. Demons kill and destroy aimlessly, their origins inexplicable and unknown. Stranger beings wander the ruins of what's left of the world. Humans need not eat or sleep, caught in a state between life and death. They cannot die or be born naturally, but they can be killed and they can be made. The few that survived with their sanity somewhat intact have locked themselves into warded cities, but their protections are feeble and often ineffective. The Order that united them is long gone, broken into factions known only by the sins for which they have fallen. The Houses that protected them are crumbling, falling into ruin as their members were culled down by angels and demons, as well as their own mad quest to save the world; the Pilgrimage, a vain attempt to steal into Eden and murder God himself. Soon, only the Scions will remain. Those that were left not due to merit, but because they were the last choice for being heroes. Those whose memories and minds are as damaged and eaten through as their world. Those who agreed to take on the mysterious Archons within their bodies and, through that contract, had ancient relics and rituals passed down to them. They converge onto a long forgotten neutral ground, trying to save themselves. A heroic journey through a nightmarish wonderland. A pilgrimage to God's tower, to make the world whole again. To cleanse the world of the horrors infecting it. To kill the God who will doom them all with his birth.

"Nature is full of such illusions to impress the imaginative." - H. P. Lovecraft In a lone dark place, away from the prying of civilization, deep down beneath the kingdom of rats, was a dimly lit room. Nothing was on it. Except for a rather unpleasant scenery. A woman strapped tightly on a shabby torture rack, with her was a psychopatic being with an obvious devious track on mind. He tells her stories. Stories that will keep her company for a while. But will she even be alive before it all ends? ----Complete-----
