In a world where overpopulation is the main thing that is threatening the civilizations left on Earth, the government has come up with a solution to the problem. When teenagers reach the age of 18, they are sent into the Panic Room, where they must face their greatest fears to survive. If they beat the Panic Room they are allowed to leave and start their journey into adulthood but if they do not, the Panic Room will consume them. Most can survive the Panic Room's torture while the unlucky few do not must live in the abyss that is the Panic Room.
