"There's a legend amongst the most traditional of Japan. Hundreds of years ago, a nearly Unstoppable and Godlike entity threatened the country; A shape-shifting creature with near-limitless power, and a grudge against the humans who had betrayed them. Sealing away the terror, a family of the most skilled priests and priestesses took it upon themselves to ensure that escape was impossible- And for hundreds of years, they have been entrusted with keeping the worlds of spirits and Humans at a semblance of peace." Born into this family of holy workers, San Miyashita is expected to join those before her in working with those from the realm of the afterlife. Her whole life has been dedicated to studying and training for her future dealings with the realms beyond her mortal world. However, San finds this work simply tiresome and uninteresting. At only 17, she has no time for hobbies; her classmates always look at her as if gazing at some strange curiosity- and if she's going to be honest, the thought of dealing with ghosts and demons for the rest of her life isn't very appealing. As the days go by, she finds her patience wearing thin; she seeks desperately for some sort of escape. Her interest, however, is piqued when a mysterious stranger on the street tells her of a rumor. There's a spirit, with amazing wish-granting power, who is more than willing to share a bit of their gift. The only condition? They must receive the negative energy from 13 tortured souls- spirits who, in life, have doomed themselves to their own personal hells in death- in exchange for their talents. Hesitant to involve herself with more spirits, but desperate to find a way out of the life forced upon her, San uses the skills she learned to enter the world beyond the living- Unaware that something unpleasant awaits her within.
