''Your singing...'' said Hector, getting closer. His eyes trapped in Mel's. ''I've heard it before.''
And to that, Mel frowned.
''That's impossible. I never sing in public. Where could you have possibly heard me?'' said Mel, taking steps backwards every time Hector would get closer.

Hector smiled at that, remembering his nights of insomnia. The meaning of it all right in front of him.

''...In my dreams.''

After almost losing his sight completely, Hector thought he had lost it all.

And even if he wasn't that attached to his future tittle of Beta, he still felt sad knowing that the day he was going to be his best friend's right hand, might never come.

But thanks to the humans and their ability to cure almost all of illnesses nonexistent for werewolves, he finally got his vision back, with a little bit of... side effects.

What he wouldn't have thought in a million years, though, was that thanks to one of those side effects, he finally found his mate. But... he wasn't the mate Hector thought he'd have at all.

First: He was a male.
Second: He wasn't even a werewolf.
And third, and the most chocking of all...
His mate...

Was a murderer on the run.
