Decades in the future, virtual reality has peaked. Headsets and their full body sensory suits are finally made functional in Necrophobia Online, a high-fantasy VR MMORPG that tens of thousands log into everyday. After the rocky production of the game, it comes as a surprise to many that the reviews are excellent. It seems like a game that a person would never want to leave- until they can't. Hiro, a twenty-two year old genius and developer of Necrophobia Online that was laid off along with hundreds of others weeks before the game's release becomes trapped inside the game on the day of launch alongside almost 30,000 others. With a deteriorating body and a permadeath system that kills your IRL, it's a race to beat the game and escape before his reality gives up on him. ----------------------------------- THIS IS NOT A STORY. This is a series of one-shots that take place inside the world. Maybe this will be a story one day, but probably not.

Life, the most realistic, in-depth, virtual reality game on the market. The game lets people go into the video game and do a plethora of things. For example, survival games. On the 10th anniversary of the game, Doctor studios, the company that made the game, decided to host an event. Across the world, tournaments will be held, to see who can survive the longest in their game. Being given 100 days, a hundred players per tournament must survive. The rework for doing so is 100000 dollars and the opportunity to play in the bigger tournaments and win more money. But that 100000 dollars will be divided amongst the survivors, which meant that players would be battling amongst themselves to get the money for themselves. In one of these tournaments, was a boy who lived in a small town. After arguing with his friends, the boy ends up competing for solo without them. He soon finds himself as the most wanted person on that server. Will he survive on his own? Or will the multitude of small teams crush him? Find out in... "Life Is Fun".
