The story tells of a woman who is plagued by dreams of a past she does not remember. Her co-dependencies and self-doubt cause her to lose control and make questionable choices to find the truth behind these dreams.

Would her decisions become irreversible as she must face the consequences of her actions? Or is her hunch about her dreams is the correct idea of redemption with the possibility of atonement for past mistakes.

Niccola is a demi-queen undercover in enemy territory. Her little sister went missing seven moons ago, but one lead remains: a picture of a woman's face, drawn by a diviner shortly after the disappearance. Tracking her down has led Niccola to Calis, the realm next door whose border with her own remains closed for a reason. There, the trail goes cold. Until, that is, Niccola runs into a man in the marketplace who bears a family resemblance to the woman she seeks. His name is Isaiah, crown prince of Calis, and he's investigating disappearances, too. They join forces, faking courtship to sneak Niccola into the palace and get Isaiah's wedding-minded mother off his back. It doesn't take long to suspect that a common threat might underpin both their realms' problems. And as Niccola begins to develop real feelings for Isaiah, she's faced with an impossible choice: reveal her secrets and risk breaking his trust, or leave him in order to chase down the woman who stole her sister... a woman whose forbidden magic comes with a cost that could bring both realms to ruin. ❖❖❖ Complete and fully edited. After the death of her mother, Lilith Anders is left in the care of her cousin. Everyone knows that. What they don't piece together is that, with her arrival, the crime rates have gone down. Suddenly new evidence surfaces, and every one of the disturbing cold cases are put to rest. The most heinous ones everyone fears to touch. No decent human being would be able to follow the macabre details to the killer. And yet, they're found half dead on doorsteps. It all starts with Lilith. After all, it takes a demon to fight one. ~~~ "Who are you?" "I'm the bastard child of a fallen king, and the daughter of a holy queen." Realization flickers in his eyes, swiftly replaced by dread. "You do realize, if your fated one is in my pack, I cannot allow you to be united." "That's a given. I'm only here to pray for the fallen by inacting justice on the demons." "Don't underestimate the bond." "Oh, I won't. I've severed it long ago." #2 in demons Jan 2019 #3 in retrospective May 2019
