Layla Montgomery was a hopeless romantic. She lived her life like she was the main character in a teen movie, because ever since her dad left she had made up her mind to have the best life she could possibly imagine.

She spent her days with her head in the clouds because real life was too uncertain, at least the clouds were always there for her. One true constant in a world where everything was always changing.

The only other constant in Layla's life was being in love. Every time she fell deeper, and more desperately. Layla had been in love five times in total, and every time the heartache got so strong it overpowered her she would write a letter.

These letters bore her very soul in their pages, and once she had written one she fell out of love and moved on. She hid them in a hat box under her bed, never ever to be seen by anyone else.
