Before he was the Prophet he was Sammy Lawrence and Sammy Lawrence once was a human before he was claimed by the ink and reborn from it's screaming, dark puddles.

My take on Sammy emerging from the ink for the first time. As I have not read the novel and I'm unsure if something about this was said about this in it...so I'd say this is more in my own little AU.
