For all of high school, best friends Ava Tate and Cordelia Laurent couldn't wait to escape their small town. They're beyond ecstatic when they're both accepted to their dream school, Forest State University, and immediately begin to plan out what is supposed to be the best four years of their lives. Things quickly change when the outgoing Ava convinces apprehensive and shy Cordelia to rush during sorority recruitment, setting her sights on getting both of them into a top-tier house. Soon the girls are fighting hundreds of others for a coveted bid among the elites.

Their biggest competition soon becomes each other when the most prestigious sorority, Alpha Xi Alpha, blacklists Ava for unknowingly sleeping with the president's boyfriend, and reveals that not only is Cordelia a legacy, but also the unofficial "Rush Crush" of every top house thanks to her estranged father's fame and fortune.

Not one to be overshadowed: Ava quickly comes up with a drastic plan to help salvage her damaged reputation and get back at Cordelia and Alpha Xi: fake date Codelia's hot step-brother, Mac, the president of FSU's top fraternity, Alpha Sigma Chi.
