The world is different. Humans were at the top of the food chain and thriving, or so they thought. They came slowly at first, almost unrecognizable and very subtle. The humans were unaware of the chaining world around them and turned on each other- The Roaring. Then came violence - The Red times and then there was nothing - The Dark times. 

Humans retreated underground and never dared to go back up to the surface and see what was out there. For three hundred years they have hidden in their dark shelters until one girl decides she wants more.

Before he could ask I snaked my hand into his hair, pulling him in. Our lips met and I felt his warmth corrode into me. He was pulling my waist closer, and I was pulling his hair.
